So this is more just to check in and say ELLO!!! and have a bit of a catch-up!! (for those who are interested)
It's been a little bit hectic, and a little bit "one foot forward, several feet back"...
Still job-hunting... still house hunting around Cardiff (although it seems that has seen further setbacks! grrr).
I've been making a load of stuff though, so I really should get some pics up!
As for the lovely things:
I WAS ABDUCTED!!! ...but in a good, wholesome way. Not that bad way... with gaffer tape and a van...
I'd just gotten home from work last Friday... shattered... when the doorbell rang!
But when I went to answer it there was nobody there!! (nobody else was home, as my parents were off on a cruise).
I closed the door, but a few seconds later it rang again!
- at which point I start getting skeptical and start grumbling things about "Fudging witty little yokel Bunt kids"
It wasn't until the doorbell rang AGAIN, while I still had the front door OPEN, that I remembered that a few weeks ago, my dad decided to put a doorbell on the BACK door as well, which links up to the same bell.
way to go Roz... Genius, love.
So I finally answered the RIGHT door, and standing there, was a lovely LOVELY man, who had driven 180 miles to present me with a sympathy card (...special boy...and yes, he DID mean to buy a sympathy card... did I mention he was special?...) which contained... a ticket... to seee..... PORCUPINE TREE IN BRISTOL!! GET IN!!
then he breaks the bad news... "oh yeah. we have to leave... now.... pack".
Eff... and indeed, ELL.
Porcupine Tree were AMAZING!!! Steven Wilson is AWESOME live, he has such an amazing voice!!! They played a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE set of PURE JOY with a ten minute interval in between.
I came away from that ONE HAPPY FREAKIN' CAMPER!! ...with a t-shirt
If you havent heard them before, I URGE you to!! they are amazing! best gig i've ever been to! (and i've been to my fair share)
LESS joyful:
I came home, my parents still away, to find my rat, Seb had a massive lump on the side of his head.
So you can imagine what I immediately thought.
"OH GOD IT'S CANCER!! OH GOD IT'S EATING HIS BRAIN AWAY!!! OH GOD MY BABY RAT IS GOING TO DIE A HORRIFYING, PAINFUL, CANCEROUS DEATH OF DOOM!!"
...yeah... so I got pretty damn upset about it.
Got him to the vet, who poked and prodded him in the face until he almost had her hand off... (part of me was really routing for him!)
They gave him a little bit of gas so that they could have a proper look at it (without losing digits), and it turned out to be an abscess! so they drained and flushed it, gave him some antibiotics and sent him on his not-so-merry way
They gave us some antibiotics too... in a syringe...
Have you ever wrestled with a rat to try and squirt some (probably foul-tasting) liquid into his mouth?...
NEITHER HAVE I!! YAAAAAAAAAY!!! ...I wasnt looking forward to that at all but luckily one of my friends who works in pets at home, told me to get some really posh chicken flavoured cat food. drain it off as much as possible (as too much liquid would upset his little belly) then mix the measure of antibiotics into that, and he'd never know!!
- we used to do that with our cats, but since Sebs food is all dry nuggety foodstuffs, I didn't think of it!
Anyway... I tried it... I'm pretty sure he didn't stop gobbling until he started eating PLATE!
er... not much else to report... IN A BIT!!
